A bouquet of tea…

bloom1.jpgBlooming teas are one of my favourite discoveries.  They are hand tied specialty teas that blossom into beautiful floral bouquets when you steep them in water.  Make them in a clear glass pot or cup to show them off to their best advantage.

unbloomed.gifThey start off looking like little pods and and then blossom to look the other picture.  They are so unique and beautiful and each type of blooming tea is different.  This one is called the Happiness Bloom and is made with Silver Needle Tea, Amaranth and Marigold.  Silver Needle Tea is premium quality white tea.  It is harvested before the buds open, in the springtime.  This ensures that the leaves are tender.

prodshot_trinket.jpgThey also have a great idea for parties or wedding favors.   This trinket box comes with a matching gift tag and contains a blooming tea pod.  They are only $4 each for an order of 25 or more, and until the end of July, there is a 20% discount.  The favor boxes also come in cube shapes, heart shapes and there is also a cute little take out box. They are perfect for all occasions.

There are 13 different blooming teas to choose from, with wonderfully evocative names like Let Love and Aloha.  There is also a great range of teaware, from clear glass commuter cups to glass teacups and tea pots.  You really need to serve and drink your tea in glass to get the full visual impact.

There is also a nice range of gifts - how about a dozen assorted blooming teas?  They come in a giftwrapped gift set with a glass commuter cup. I ‘d be thrilled with a gift like that!

Another clever gift idea is the tea greeting card.  For $6, fullbloomtea.com will laser print the message of your choice onto a card, include your choice of Star bloom, Let Love bloom, Happiness bloom or Teapot bloom and mail the card and bloom first class U.S. mail.  I think that’s a wonderful and individual gift to give someone - for a birthday, an anniversay or just to say “I’m thinking of you.”
