Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. The Sun moves into Aries on or close to 21 March and stays there until 20 April. This makes March 21 is the astrological New Year.
Aries is ruled by the element of fire. They need to do all they can to keep their ‘inner fire’ alive. A despondent Arien may find themselves feeling unenthusiastic and lacking inner direction.
People born under the sunsign of Aries have vibrant and outgoing personalities.  Born leaders, they are naturally competitive and like to win, standing out from the crowd. They have an confident and uncomplicated approach to life and are vast reserves of energy.
Aries is ruled by Mars and is associated with the colour red. Thus, Ariens have quick tempers, but they rarely hold grudges or resentment.
Ariens are on the go all the time. They enjoy a challenge and always seem to have their sights set on some goal or other. Their lifestyles tend to be fast-paced, both at work and in their personal lives.
The main Arien vice is selfishness and a ‘me first mentality’. It’s important for Ariens to consciously consider the feelings of others and the impact of their behavious on them. Ariens also tend to take risks and act without thinking. Self-awareness and mindfulness training are so beneficial for Ariens because this is one of the ways they can transcend the shadow side of their zodiac sign.
Ariens do not suffer fools gladly and like to be independent in their thoughts and actions. Freedom is an important Arien value and partners and parents of Ariens would do well to keep this in mind.
On the homefront, Aries likes comforable and solid furnishing and the less fuss, the better. Most Ariens love red in all it’s hues and this colour will often feature in their home decor.
Ariens are hardworkers and will often enjoy the process of creating a garden feature or building an extension for the home even more than the end result.
Ariens like energy and activity so you are more likely to find them in an urban setting than in the middle of nowhere, but Aries still needs a sense of space and expansion.
Aries tastes tend towards conventional, avoiding elaborate or eclectic styles. Aries likes to collect furnishings that last and abhors anything ‘cheap and cheeful’.  Your Aries spouse will want to buy a solid, beautiful, timeless dining suite that will last a life time rather than a cheap set that will need replacing or updating in a few years.
