Get your credit score right today.

I recently had to get copies of my credit reports to verify some details for a background check. I didn’t realise the reports would contain the addresses I had lived at when I applied for credit so that was a surprise to find that someone could know all that information about me. However it was a good chance to find out if my records were correct and fortunately, they were. I requested the report in both my family name and my married name, just to be on the safe side.
It’s really important to know your credit score and to make sure the information contained about you is accurate. Your credit score is a summary of information contained in your consumer bureau report and any organisation that you apply to for a loan or credit card will be able to view it and see if you are a good credit risk. In my case, it was also reviewed as part of my job application process and I would not have been able to be employed had my score been poor and in the future, should I ever apply for bankruptcy it is part of my contract that my employment would be terminated if I become bankrupt. It’s hard to emphasise how important your credit score is for so many reasons.
You can get a free report once a year to check that your information is accurate through www.unioncreditreport.com. They have a lot of useful information about credit scores and you can also see which credit cards are recommended and apply for them on line.
