The Law of Attraction: Stop Attracting the Wrong Thoughts, People

By Penny | June 10, 2007

Though a lot of people know that our energy attracts our circumstances, it isn’t always easy to see how we block positive changes and why we’d continue to attract unhealthy situations.

If you find that you are still surrounded by an environment that has lots of flaws in it, it’s time to do a bit of soul searching. Are you on some level drawn to addictive behavours or people who embody that lifestyle? Try to sit with this question for a while.

Do you find that there is a self-destructive streak that you fall into? Does your social life involves people that sabotage themselves? What we draw into our lives can be due to our fears, background and habits. To attract a different type of lifestyle or environment, the old needs to be uprooted.

Try to see which of your friends seem helpful to you in reaching your higher goals. Are the conversations you have with people often about personal failures and past mistakes? Can you change the energy in these dialogues so that you attract something new? It is helpful to be around others that are seeking their dreams and goals rather than those that feel defeated, trapped in a box or in a victim stance.

When you wake up in the morning , read something that will fill you with your new outlook rather than reinforce the former attitude. Don’t start the day out with negatives such as, “I’ll never make this deadline”, “I will go off my diet again today” or “they’ll ignore me again”. You are feeding these thoughts when you do this. Instead visualize the ideal situation, write it down and give thanks and appreciation for it manifesting. Really envision the ideal life in detail. Look at what you are wearing, your friends, the day to day life you picture. The more vivid you can make this , the clearer you will become and it won’t just be a vague hope or wish but a full-bodied reality. Each day nourish yourself with this visualization to plant it firmly as your new state of being.
