The Secret author - state your sources, please.

I’m not a big fan of the book and DVD ‘The Secret’.  Not because I don’t believe in the philosophy - I believe in it very much, but I object to the pseudo-science it contains.

Here is an example from page 62.

Time is an illusion.  Einstein told us that.

Did he?  When?  Where?  I think you’ll find that Einstein posited that a number of things were illusory, not just time, plus you could take any statement out of context and have it sound like it means whatever you like.

Further, just because one person say so, doesn’t make it true.  There are as many detractors of Einstein’s Theory of Relativity as there are proponents.

“Yes, the Universe is friendly.”  Why? Because when you answer in this way, byt he law of attraction you must experience that.  Albert Einstein posed this powerful question because he knew The Secret.

Oh really?  And you have proof of that?  Let’s bear in mind that Einstein is also alleged to have said that the world will end in 2026 and that in today’s terms, he was abusive towards his wife.  The man is not God.  He is just a scientist and he may or may not be right.

And then there’s my personal favourite:

It has been scientifically proven that one positive thought cancels out 100 negative thoughts”

Aaaaaand what scientific tests proves this and where are the results of this study?

The philosophy behind the Secret is solid enough - it doesn’t need this rubbish science to try and give it some credibility.
